6-week training programme
What's the saying? "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." When it comes to hiking up a 4,095-metre mountain, those words have never been truer.
That's why we've created an exclusive 6-week training programme to ensure that you're both physically and mentally prepared for your ascent up Mount Kinabalu.
The programme will provide a solo training routine for the 6 weeks preceding the hike and invitations to 6 weekly group workouts with your fellow hikers. These boot camps are specifically crafted to improve your endurance and strengthen the muscles that'll help you conquer those steep slopes.
Boot camps begin on the week commencing 11 March. Locations, dates, and times will be shared on our private WhatsApp group.
On the week commencing 22 April, you will also be invited to a one-off pre-hike briefing, where you will learn what to expect, what to wear, and what you should pack (including nutrition recommendations).

Frequently asked questions
What will the group size be?
The maximum group size is 10. The minimum group size is 6.
What should we pack?
This will be discussed during the pre-hike briefing, however, you should plan to pack: Suitable walking shoes, warm clothing, change of clothes, energy supplements, altitude tablets, sun block, insect repellent, water proofs, a head torch, and cold-weather accessories.
When is the cut-off date for bookings?
Booking will remain open as long as we have spots available, however, the availability of flights and accommodation may be impacted if bookings are made closer to the start date. We will try and help you with alternative arrangements.
What are the accommodation arrangements?
The first night will be spent in Kinabalu National Park. Rooms will be allocated on a case-by-case basis and we will try our best to meet your requirements. The second night will be at Panalaban Base Camp, which is a dormitory-style accommodation located on Mount Kinabalu itself. The third night will be at Holiday Inn Express Kota Kinabalu City Centre.
Who is the hike suitable for?
It's recommended that participants are in good health and possess a reasonable level of fitness. If your current condition is affected by a respiratory disease or obesity, this may hamper your ability to reach the summit. This hike is not recommended for children younger than 10 years old. Please contact us if you would like to discuss your current condition and suitability for the hike.
Are boot camps mandatory for participants?
Not at all, however, if you're uncertain about your current physical condition and whether you'll be able to make the summit, we highly recommend them.
Do you offer any special discounts if we book as a group?
While we reserve the right to offer promotional discounts at any time, there are currently no plans for a group discount. However, we are very happy to discuss this on a case-by-case basis, so please contact us to find out more.
