A one-of-a-kind fitness experience: Conquer Kinabalu

Conquer Mount Kinabalu: 26–29 April 2024

Are you ready to take your fitness to new heights?

Join us for an unforgettable 4,095-m hike to the summit of Southeast Asia's highest peak and 6 weeks of exclusive training to prepare you for the ascent.

But first, what's this all about? Let me explain.

Individuals commonly struggle to set themselves fitness goals beyond the ambiguous "gain strength" or "lose weight". So, I often encourage individuals to break their goals down into three buckets:

  1. Aesthetic ("I want to look like this").

  2. Performance ("I want to lift this much").

  3. Group experiential ("I want to have this experience").

Of these three, it's group experiential goals that individuals most struggle with, which is a shame as they are often the most powerful and motivating.

What are group experiential goals?

Group experiential goals emphasise having shared experiences with others while accomplishing challenging tasks. They are an excellent way to foster collaboration and camaraderie as this goal type encourages teamwork and creates a supportive environment where individuals can collectively overcome obstacles and celebrate achievements.

In addition, shared experiences enhance social connections, which provide a sense of belonging and motivation to push through challenges. Group experiential goals go beyond individual success and promote a sense of community and shared purpose, making the journey more meaningful and the accomplishments more gratifying.

So, given how beneficial I think group experiential tasks are and how often individuals struggle to create them, I asked myself, how can I help? And that's when an idea struck me.

I can create one for you

Last year, I was fortunate enough to have a group of friends who planned a hike up the highest mountain in Southeast Asia, Mount Kinabalu. This was not only a fitness challenge, but also an amazing opportunity to meet a group of individuals that I'm now lucky enough to call close friends.

The group I hiked Mount Kinabalu with in 2023

The hike wasn't easy, but it was made a lot easier by having a group of friends sweating and struggling alongside me as we slowly but surely made our way to the summit of the 4,095-m mountain. If you've ever taken part in a group fitness experience, you'll know how motivating the energy from others can be, as well as how it can push you beyond the limits you could achieve alone.

One thing I know for sure is that I wouldn't have had this experience had it not been for a member of the group planning the trip for us. They organised the transport, accommodation, and mountain guide, and kept us all on track. All I had to do was buy the flights and commit to the experience.

And I don't regret making that commitment at all. I gained so much from the experience and now I want to offer you the chance to make your own memories and achieve something fantastic.

Conquer Mount Kinabalu

I'm organising a one-of-a-kind experience for 6–10 individuals to train for and conquer Mount Kinabalu between 26–29 April 2024.

The experience will take place over four days and three nights. It will not only include all accommodation, meals, a hiking guide up and down the mountain, and all transportation but also 6 weeks of outdoor boot camps to ensure you're ready to tackle the steep slopes of Southeast Asia's highest mountain.

The six boot camps, hosted weekly, are specifically crafted to improve your endurance and strengthen the muscles that'll help you conquer the mountain. They will begin on the week commencing 11 March.

In addition, on the week commencing 22 April, you will also be invited to a special pre-hike briefing, where you will learn what to expect, what to wear, and what you should pack (including nutrition recommendations).

Take your fitness to new heights

Climbing Mount Kinabalu offers a rewarding and challenging experience, as well as the chance to create memories that will stay with you for years to come.
